Transportation for the mind: Designer Martin and Roger Dean's retreat pod. Created in the 70's the fibreglass pod featured a stereo, adequate air-conditioning and to counter possible claustrophobia the door would shut by its own weight, so no catches were needed. The interior of the Pod was lit by hundreds of tiny orange neon bulbs which looked liked "tiny glow-worms"...we want one.

Japan gets Apartments for Motorcyclists Only.

"The Japanese love their motorcycles, and property is at an ultr-apremium, so a huge percentage of the population lives in apartments. The small-space restrictions considered, it only makes sense to have an apartment designed for motorcyclists only. The JaThe NE complex consists of eight apartment units, all of which have space for indoor storage, accessible from the street."
