"Big Ned" was built by Australian Mark Walker. "An engineering genius with a very calm and philosophical air to him. Mark is a self taught engineer, capable of creating machinery beyond the dreams of most people. Mark is also dyslexic. He cant read or write to save himself. All of his designs and schematics come straight out of his head.

Mark with Ned

An engineering/artistic exercise with a very Australian feel to it. Obviously Ned (named after the Australian bandit Ned Kelly who wore home-made plate metal armour) is not a practical motorcycle, the lack of suspension would thrash any rider even over a short distance. The massive engine with its rotary valves and Steam punk brass work is more an aesthetic expression than anything..."
